FERTILITY A BOON-PRESERVE IT

Modern life styles and conditions compelled men to interfere with nature; the result he stands alienated from it as otherwise, infertility would not have been a problem of such magnitude as on today.  Concepts of conceiving techniques like IVF have become necessary to save mankind from this peril

In the year 2008 WHO declared infertility as a disease, followed by American Society of Reproductive Medicine making it mandatory for Insurance Companies to honor the claims for fertility restoration treatments. In urban societies, that are more susceptible to modern lifestyle, percentage of infertile couples is reaching the level of 15 to 20%. Infertility may be temporary or permanent.  It can be total or partial. Depending on the nature of it treatments are suggested.  However, if the prospective couples give a little more attention to their lifestyles and routines, this unfortunate situation can be averted.

Food Habits & exercises: Insist on natural foods containing plenty of minerals and vitamins. Avoid foods and beverages containing preservatives, artificial coloring and flavoring agents. Avoid eating meat of hormone injected animals and vegetables containing pesticide residues.
Engage in a moderate exercise regime enabling to make body mind and fit.

Creating conducive work atmosphere: Avoid stress of any kind. Evaluate the work atmosphere and try to make it healthy.   Problems at your work bear direct relation to comfort level and enjoyment of life of which sex play vital role.  And it is a fact that in case of less frequency chances of infertility is more.

Smoking & drinking: Excessive indulgence is bad for both the partners.  It may lead to low sperm count in male coupled with erectile dysfunction.  In case of female frigidity may be the result.

Medical check ups: In case of difficulty in conceiving after a considerable period of cohabitation, couple should go for preliminary check ups.  For male, infection in reproductive system including a urinary track infection may lead to infertility.  In case of female, it is hormone imbalances, fibroids, infection in fallopian tubes etc., are the cause of sterility.  All these can be reversed by medical interference and a timely check up is needed for these.

Above described precautions are elementary measures one should adopt for a healthy conception and if one cannot achieve the goal in spite of this, then only drastic measures are required.
