The complaint often associated with the study of Mathematics is that it is a dry subject and students find it less interesting and difficult to memorize. Many students who are otherwise brilliant fail in examinations due to their inability to grasp mathematical lessons and perform well. Academicians all over the world could not find out ways to make it interesting and attractive to students. During interaction with some students I came across some novel ideas spread among them to make math’s study more interesting. They either personify digits and integers or add up puzzles to make it more memorable. Some examples are given below which force us think how their brain works.
1)Newton asked his wife: How do I look?
Ans: You are tanC/SinC or SinC/CosC/SinC or 1/Cos C = SecC or Sexy
2)Power = work/time -- : time =work/power but knowledge= power: and time is
money. So money=work/knowledge: if knowledge is 0, money = work/0=infinity.
So why to acquire knowledge or study when you earn infinite amount of money
With 0 knowledge?
3)Is 3=1? See this.
Let x be =y:then 2x=2y: or 3x-x=3y-y:or 3x-3y=x-y: or 3(x-y)=x-y ie., 3=1
What wonderful ideas!
